It’s easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day stress that we all have in our lives.  1.     Laugh – out loud!

Don’t be afraid to have a good laugh and add some humor to your life. Laughter can be a great coping mechanism for a stressful day. So grab a friend and go see a comedy show or the latest Judd Apatow movie. Laughter can truly be the best medicine for the soul.

2.     Own up to the truth

Say goodbye to your guilty conscious that is likely causing you anxiety and stress, and therefore weighing on you both emotionally and physically. When you conceal the truth, you are creating mental strain and stress. Clear the air and fess up to mistakes you’ve made or lies you’ve told. Remember, honesty is always the best policy – and the best way to avoid stress.

3.     Making a list, checking it twice

You may be overwhelmed by the sheer number of “to-do” items swirling around in your brain. Grab a pen and paper and start writing everything down that you want to accomplish at the beginning of each week. Keeping a written record of things that need to be done will help you avoid missed deadlines, as well. Plus, it feels really great when you can cross something off of your list. Stress, no more.

4.     Indulge that sweet tooth

True fact: sugar has been proven to improve mental performance in high-stress situations. Scientists suggest that glucose may help the brain absorb tryptophan, which helps to boost serotonin levels that help to improve your mood. While you’ll want to consume sugar in moderation, a little bit a chocolate could be just what you need.

5.     Hit the gym

When stress creeps into our lives, a constructive way to deal with the pressure is to go to the gym to let off steam. Hop on the treadmill or participate in your favorite workout class to help clear your head and focus on your mind/body connection. You’ll feel reenergized and revitalized – and ready to kick stress to the curb.

6.     This kiss, this kiss!

Sometimes, a kiss cures what’s stressing you. A 10-second kiss can help to satisfy your innate need for physical connection, helping you to feel less isolated and in turn, more confident to address the stress in your life. Plus, a kiss is one of the best ways to release endorphins which will help put you in a great mood.
