Check your vitamin levels. Pay special attention to iron and Vitamin D. A deficiency of these two nutrients can lead to breakage and frayed locks.

Get regular trims. Getting your hair cut rids your hair of split ends and makes it look healthier.


Over dry. Try to let your hair air dry a bit before getting out your hairdryer (or let it totally air dry if you can). When you turn it on, go to a lower heat setting.

Use heat every day. Whenever you can get away with it (like on the weekends, for example), don’t use a flat iron or curling iron. Over time, this can damage the hair, so it’s important to give your locks a break every now and then.
